As I leave the Museum of Memory, and am back again on the Matucana Avenue, I cross the street take the Parque Quinta Normal on my right and start walking along the avenue. On my right is the Modern Art Museum Parque Normal, one of the two branches (the other one is the Modern Art Museum Parque Forestal just behind the Fine Arts Museum in the centre close to Plaza de las Armas). The entrance is free; whether you may like contemporary art or not you will find interesting works.
A colourful big sculpture in the courtyard is Rivera’s work, it covers almost two floors, looks like a lego. On the second floor I watch a video work by carolina Mora Toro. It is called ‘the knowledge of the world’, images of men competing their body, a chita running in front of them, another man jumping from a cliff, mass food production; it reminds me a bit of the documentary of Samsara, men chasing always power and status. The work is quite impressing. At the other branch of the museum in Parque Forestal we visit a book fair; if you have time visit both of them whether you are into contemporary art or not you will find interesting works.
