The island of Bali is quite big; it is geographically impressive in the sense that in the same day you can watch the sunrise on the top of a volcanic mountain, and at the very same day watch the sun set on a beach looking at the horizon while listening to the sound of the ocean; it touches all your senses.
The interior part of the island is made of rice fields, volcanic mountains, green valleys; the coasts are both made of beaches where big waves are always at the disposal of surf lovers or the ones with calm turquoise waters wait for divers.
After staying in Ubud and enjoying the bohemian, arty atmosphere of the village, I decide to spend some time by the ocean and head to the southwestern part of the island; it takes more than an hour to reach there from Ubud by car. Escaping the most touristic beach, the Kuta area, I’m heading to the Balangan beach. It is mostly preferred by surfers due to the quality of the waves. The right side of the beach is quite interesting in its formation; stones carved by the waves naturally that made little ponds; a newly wed couple celebrating the beginning of their new life by taking pictures. The left side of the beach is where the surfers are, they walk, the surf board on their hands, to catch the waves as the day ends.
